Lozenski to row at KU

May 11, 2010

Lansing High senior Abbey Lozenski has been one of her class' most decorated athletes as a basketball, soccer and cross country standout, but she will try her hand at a new sport in college.

Lozenski recently was announced as a member of the 2010 recruiting class for the Kansas University rowing team.

Lozenski was a four-year letter winner in basketball and soccer at Lansing, a three-year letter winner in cross country and a two-year letter winner in cheerleading. She was named an All-American cheerleader.

Lozenski also has been a standout in the classroom at LHS. She is a Kansas Honor Scholar, a Governor's Scholar and a Board of Regents Scholar, as well as a Watkins-Berger Scholarship recipient.

Lozenski is the latest in a series of recent LHS graduates who have gone on to compete as NCAA Division I rowers. Among them are current Kansas State rower Danielle Glynn and former Wildcat Megan Hauver.
