At the official end of the 2010 campaign, the United Way of Leavenworth County announced it had reached about 80 percent of its 2010 goal of $375,000.

Basehor has a pet registry in which residents register their animals for $5 each. In 2009, there were 239 animals registered. Leavenworth County Humane Society president Crystal Blackdeer said estimates show there are likely about 2,900 pets in the city, which equals $14,500.
