BLMS 7th-grade girls continue undefeated
The Basehor-Linwood Middle School seventh-grade girls basketball teams remain on course for undefeated seasons.
The varsity and junior varsity squads both recently beat Monticello Trails and Mill Creek.
The squads faced Monticello Trails on Tuesday, Nov. 16, and won handily. The varsity cruised to a 41-2 victory behind a game-high 8 points apiece from Zoey DeLeon and Jenna Donnelly. Madi Wheeler scored 6 points; Madison Sibert, Jenna Mussett, Ryann Smith and Nicole Rutherford had 4 apiece; and Chandley Easley chipped in 3.
The BLMS JV beat Monticello Trails, 29-2. Allie Johnson led the way with 7 points, and Mikayla Grover and Kylie Denham each had 4. BLMS received 2 points apiece from Rachel Ulreich, Jordan Blackwood, Erin Heinen, Courtney Robinson, Rachel Tindell, Savannah Rollo and Miriah Mahoney.
BLMS was back in action Thursday, Nov. 18, against Mill Creek.
The varsity squad squeaked out a 30-29 victory. DeLeon poured in a game-high 17 points, Mussett had 5, Rutherford scored 4, Sibert had 3 and Donnelly added 1 as the team moved its record to 9-0 for the season.
The junior varsity squad won, 18-6, behind a game-high 9 points from Robinson. Denham scored 4 points, Hanna Dickey had 3 and Grover added 2 as the team improved to 7-0.
