BLMS 8th-grade girls pile up more victories

The Basehor-Linwood Middle School girls basketball teams continue to pile up victories.

They swept a pair of games Monday, Nov. 15, at Pioneer Ridge.

The varsity squad cruised to a 33-14 victory and received a game-high 12 points from Alexis Nichols to go with 6 from Marriah Clayton. Sara Ford and Madison McDowell scored 4 apiece, Morgan Lawrence and Abi Batesel each scored 2, and Naqari Harris, Kenedy Bowers and Quinn Walcott each added 1.

The junior varsity squad won, 31-13, and received a team-high 7 points from Lindsey Laney and 6 from Madison Langford. Keirstin Lindelof, Nia Sitzmann, Bowers and Emily Vitt scored 4 apiece and Whitney Miles added 2.

BLMS then routed Monticello Trails on Tuesday, Nov. 16, at MTMS.

The varsity squad cruised to a 39-2 victory behind a game-high 8 points from Ford. Walcott and Clayton scored 6 apiece, Harris and Lawrence each had 5, Nichols scored 4, Batesel had 3 and McDowell added 2.

The JV won, 31-9, behind a game-high 7 points from Batesel and 6 apiece from Bowers and Lindelof. In addition, Laney scored 4 and BLMS received 2 points apiece from Miles, Lindsey Schubert, Sitzmann and Langford.

The varsity squad is now 8-0 and the JV is 5-1.
