September 27, 2010

Work has begun on a traffic signal installation project at Kansas Highway 7 and Polfer Road in Wyandotte County.

Crews are installing new traffic signals, and work will take place daily Monday through Friday, during daylight hours.

The Kansas Department of Transportation said northbound and southbound K-7 would be reduced to one lane through the intersection during the duration of the project. A posted speed limit of 55 mph will be in place throughout the project work zone. Drivers should expect minor delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes, if possible. Updated lane closure information for this project can be viewed online at:

Black and McDonald is the primary contractor on this project with a total contract cost of $438,000. The scheduled completion date for the entire project is mid-December 2010.
