Prioleau reaches 100 finals at Kansas Relays
Lawrence A light drizzle pelted the track at the Kansas Relays Friday at Kansas University's Memorial Stadium, but it did nothing to dampen the Basehor-Linwood High School track team's expectations.
The Bobcats had individual competitors in the boys and girls 100-meter dash preliminaries, as well as the boys 400-meter relay prelims, and all turned in strong performances.
No Bobcat was better than senior Daniel Prioleau who blazed the 100 in 10.94 seconds. He took second in his heat and was seventh overall out of 35 runners. That earned him a berth in Saturday's finals.
In the girls 100 prelims, junior Dakkota Edmonds also had a solid race. She took third in her heat in 12.66 seconds and finished 13th out of 39 runners. Her time was just .07 away from a finals berth.
Later, the boys 400-meter relay team of Miles Brown, Trey Kinchloe, Lane Young and Prioleau took 11th overall in 43.66 and narrowly missed reaching the championship finals.
