Bonner Parks and Rec offers fall sports programs
The Bonner Springs Parks and Recreation Department will offer youth soccer, girls volleyball and adult volleyball programs this fall, and registration for all programs currently is being accepted.
The soccer program is open to boys and girls ages 4-14. Practices begin Aug. 29, and games take place on Saturdays from Sept. 17 to Oct. 29. Make-up games may be played on Sundays. Cost is $35 for Bonner Springs residents and $40 for nonresidents. Registration closes Aug. 24.
The volleyball program is open to girls in second through eighth grades. Practices begin Sept. 12 and games take place on Saturdays from Oct. 8 to Nov. 19 at the Bonner Springs Community Center and Bonner Springs YMCA. Some games may be played on Sundays if needed. Cost is $35 per player for residents and $40 for nonresidents. Registration closes Aug. 31.
The adult volleyball league is a 6-on-6 recreational league open to men and women ages 16 and older. Teams consist of three men and three women on the court at the same time. Games will take place at 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays beginning Sept. 6. There is an eight-game guarantee and a single-elimination tournament at the end of the season. Players call their own game and keep their own score. Cost is $80 per team, and deadline to register is Aug. 26.
