Bonner Springs Horseshoe Pitching Tournament ready for 24th edition set for Aug. 24 at South Park
The Bonner Springs Parks and Recreation Department and VFW Post 6401 will present the 24th annual Bonner Springs Horseshoe Pitching Tournament Saturday, Aug. 20, at South Park, 246 Shadyside, in Bonner Springs.
The tournament is open to the public and all horseshoe throwers, regardless of ability. It features a singles tournament that will seed individuals by skill level, as well as a doubles tournament.
A juniors division will be offered for boys and girls interested in participating.
Cost is $6 per player for each tournament, and juniors may compete free of charge.
Registration for the tournament will begin at 8 a.m. under the shelter house adjacent to the horseshoe pits.
Members of Post 6401 and the ladies from the Post Auxiliary will play host to a concession stand offering hot food, cold drinks and home-made desserts.
