The Bulldogs routed Mill Creek, 20-11, in the semifinals behind a balanced scoring attack. Marriah Clayton led the way with 6 points, Sarah Ford scored 4, Naqari Harris and Alexis Nichols each scored 3, and Quinn Walcott and Madison McDowell chipped in 2 apiece.

In the finals, Piper edged BLMS, 25-23, and claimed the championship. Clayton led the way with 8 points; Harris had 6; Ford scored 4; Nichols and Walcott had 2 apiece; and Kennedy Bowers had 1.

“Coach (Larry) Booth and I were so proud of the girls’ efforts this season, especially (against Piper),” coach Chris Shelby said. “They showed a lot of heart to battle back the entire game against a strong Piper squad. The ladies, Coach Booth and I appreciate all the fans, players, parents, and school support shown this season. We had a fun year where Coach Booth and I feel the girls improved a lot. We wish them all the best!”

The team finished with an 11-2 record.

The seventh-grade girls placed fourth in their league tournament.

BLMS lost to Mill Creek in the semifinals, 16-9, and then lost to Lansing, 18-14.

“Although the season did not end as we had hoped, the girls still finished the season with an overall record of 10-3,” coach Erin Foley said. “I am proud of them and their accomplishments this year!”
