Murphy is MVP of All-Tournament Team

Ryan Murphy was the most valuable player of the Basehor-Linwood Basketball Invitational last week according to coaches.

Murphy led the Bobcats to the team’s fourth consecutive championship.

“We hope to make it five next year,” he said.

He also praised his teammates and said it was nice to win the individual award. His selection headlined the Bobcats named to the All-Tournament Team. Colin Murphy also was named to the team.

The other selections were Tyler Peve, Maryville; Adam Hasty, Ottawa; Semi Ojeleye, Ottawa; Chris Nsenki, Park Hill; Dearis Flint, Park Hill; Freddie Manyawu, Platte County; Nate Collins, Pembroke Hill; Cameron Woodring, Fort Scott.

Basehor-Linwood forward Megan Bergstrom was selected to the girls’ All-Tournament Team.

The team is voted on by coaches and Bergstrom finished with 15 points in the team’s victory against Fort Scott.

She was the only Basehor-Linwood player selected.

The other players selected were Rylie Bowser, Holton; Kylie Miller, Holton; Jordan Baldwin, Ottawa; Maggie Bones, Ottawa; Kyleesha Weston, Park Hill; Taylor Johnson, Platte County; Kelsey Knox, Platte County. Paige Kneale, St. Joe Benton; Lee Winter, Pembroke Hill.
