Local educators attend Emporia State conference

Nearly 100 educators from across Kansas gathered to hear an award-winning children's author and illustrator and a nationally known reading expert at a recent conference at Emporia State University. Those attending from this area were:

• Reann French, Reading Recovery teacher, Terri McAlister, Title I reading teacher and Chris Baska, reading specialist at Tonganoxie Elementary School.

• Bette Bell and Denise Shelley, Reading Recovery teachers, and Carolyn Boyd, literacy coach at Lansing Elementary in Lansing.
