BLMS track succeeds at Lexington Invitational

The Basehor-Linwood Middle School track team had a strong showing Thursday, April 28, at the Lexington Trails Invitational.
The team had numerous successes. The biggest victory came in the eighth-grade girls 3,200-meter run as Quinn Walcott finished first and set a new school record.
Other fist-place finishes came from eighth-grader Katie Hickman in the 200 and the eighth-grade girls 1,600-meter relay team of Hickman, Sierra Smith, Marriah Clayton and Walcott that finished first and set a new school record. In addition, the 400-meter relay team of Sarah Ford, Hickman, Smith and Clayton took first and set a new school record.
Second-place finishes came from Ford in the long jump, Jenna Donnelly in the seventh-grade shot put, and Smith in the 200.
Third-place finishes came from Zack Carter in the eighth-grade shot put, Conner Smith in the seventh-grade long jump, Ryan Smith in the seventh-grade shot put, Keirsten Lindelof in the eighth-grade 1,600 and 3,200, Smith in the high jump and Madison Howard in the eighth-grade 800.
In addition, the seventh-grade girls 800-meter relay team of Nicole Rutherford, Weible, Morgan Payne and Rachel Tindell finished third. The eighth-grade girls 800-meter relay team of Megan Sixta, Nia Sitzmann, Lexi Nichols and Sammie Hill also took third.
