Leavenworth resident pleads guilty to child pornography

May 26, 2011

A Leavenworth man has been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for producing child pornography, U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom said.

Allan Fry, 39, Leavenworth, pleaded guilty Tuesday, May 24, in U.S. District Court in Kansas City, Kan., to one count of producing child pornography. In his plea, Fry admitted to taking photos of a 14-year-old boy with an erect penis and sending the photographs to an undercover police officer in Keene, N.H. The boy was the son of someone Fry knew.

Fry came into contact with the undercover officer on the Internet through a Web group called “malepuberty,” where Fry used the screen name “Allboy.” Investigators followed an electronic trail to Fry’s home in Leavenworth. Forensic analysis showed the photographs were taken on an Apple iPhone. Investigators determined Fry possessed about 4,000 images of child pornography and 60 video files of child pornography on discs at his home, including videos of him having sex with minor males.

The case was prosecuted through Project Safe Childhood, a Justice Department initiative targeting child predators.
