McPherson College offering contest to Kansas students
McPherson College is offering up a challenge to current high school students that could land them a $5,000 grant.
The college is sponsoring Jump Start Kansas, a program challenging high school students to come up with a commercial or nonprofit venture that demonstrates the entrepreneurial spirit. Students can enter as an individual or with others as a team.
One student or team in each category will receive a $5,000 grant to turn ideas into a reality, with no requirement that they attend McPherson College.
College officials say the primary motive is sparking the entrepreneurial spirit among youth in Kansas.
McPherson College also has an entrepreneurial program called Freedom to Jump. For more information, go to mcpherson.edu/entrepreneurship.
With Jump Start Kansas, there’s a reward just for taking the time and thought to submit an idea — a scholarship to McPherson College to everyone who applies and a larger scholarship to 10 finalists.
