League of Women Voters invites legislators to speak
The League of Women Voters of Leavenworth County has invited the six state legislators who represent parts of the county, the six mayors of the county’s incorporated cities and the chairman of the county commission to meet with its members and with the public to discuss the 2012 Kansas legislative session.
The event will start at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4 at June’s Cottage, 216 N. Broadway in Leavenworth. It is open to the public. The League will invite each state legislator to speak for a few minutes about their hopes, expectations, and sponsored projects in this next session. Local officials will have a chance to express their concerns or hopes for the session, as well. People in attendance will also have a chance to meet with the legislators in smaller groups. Not all of the invited officials may be able to attend the event.
