The time will come next week for the Basehor City Council to make a final decision on how much to charge residents of the Glenwood Estates subdivision to connect to the city’s sewer system, and at Monday’s council work session, a Leavenworth County commissioner pled his case for the city to give the residents a break.

Between 1,000 and 2,000 bicyclists are expected to ride through Basehor this weekend as part of a multiple sclerosis fundraiser, and the Basehor-Linwood High School National Honor Society will provide a rest stop for the riders in the school’s parking lot.

Basehor-Linwood High School administrators presented a deeper look at the school’s improvements on ACT test scores in 2011 at Monday’s Basehor-Linwood school board meeting, saying that students were proving themselves more ready for college and that the higher scores were linked to tougher classes for students.
