Letter: Bike show sees large turnout
To the editor:
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone in our community who contributed and participated in the Kobi’s 19th Annual Bike Show.
On Sept. 17, we had our annual fundraiser in less-than-ideal conditions. We had rain in the morning and we were concerned that it would hinder our turnout. But in true form, loyal Kobi’s customers braved the weather and rode their show bikes to Bonner Springs.
Together they contributed more than $2,700. We are pleased that we were able to raise as much as we did with the weather being a factor. The proceeds this year were given to Tanner Cushman, a local young man who was diagnosed with leukemia last year. We would like to thank all of the businesses that contributed with T-shirt sponsorships, trophy sponsorships and auction donations. I would also like to recognize the city of Bonner Springs and the city council for all of their cooperation this year.
We are proud that we can call Bonner Springs our hometown.
Kobi’s Staff and I thank you all for another successful Bike Show!
