‘Green business’ seminar offered at KCKCC
A “Green Business” seminar designed to improve work environments in an easy, green and cost-effective manner will be offered Thursday, April 19, at Kansas City Kansas Community College.
A breakfast meeting featuring a trio of sustainability specialists, the seminar will be held from 7:30-9 a.m. in the Heirloom Garden located between the Field House and the Flint Building on the north end of the KCKCC campus, 7250 State Ave. The speakers are as follows:
• Gary Walker, CEO of Magic Touch, who will discuss how work environments can be improved in an easy and cost-effective manner.
• Kurt Gerdes, Director of Raw Materials for Lafarge, will share the techniques and practices that Lafarge has used in its process of becoming one of the top 100 most sustainable corporations in the world.
• Richard Mabion, founder of Building a Sustainable Earth Community, will recount an area high school’s efforts in greening Harley Davidson.
