Woman arrested on aggravated battery charges north of Basehor
A 38-year-old woman was arrested Wednesday night on aggravated battery charges after a domestic disturbance involving her parents at a home north of Basehor.
A Leavenworth County Sheriff’s report said the woman repeatedly punched her 54-year-old mother in the chest, where she had a pacemaker implanted. She also struck her 57-year-old father in the head with a broom handle, the report said. At one point, after her parents had left the home, the woman called them and threatened to kill them and herself when they returned, according to the report.
The woman was arrested about 9 p.m. Wednesday on two charges of aggravated battery and taken to Leavenworth County jail.
Neither of the woman’s parents was injured badly enough to require a hospital trip, Leavenworth County Undersheriff Ron Cranor said Thursday morning.
