Church ministry offers pie contest and sale during Tiblow Days
The Feed His Lambs ministry at the Bonner Springs United Methodist Church will have its first ever Pie Contest and Pie Sale Saturday, Aug. 25, at Tiblow Days. The ministry is seeking both contest entries and donations for the pie sale.
Entries for the Pie Contest will be accepted 8-9 a.m. Saturday at The Pink Zebra in downtown Bonner Springs. Entry forms are currently available at The Pink Zebra. There will be a fruit and an “other” category in the contest.
The pies will be judged at 11 a.m. and winners announced at noon. Cash prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place. There is a $2 entry fee per category.
Pie donations also are needed, either homemade or store bought, for the Pie Sale. Donations for the sale should be delivered 5-7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24, to the Bonner Springs United Methodist Church, 425 W. Morse Ave. Organizers ask that donations not include cream pies.
The sale will take place all day Saturday at two booths: at The Pink Zebra and near the community center. Buy a slice for $2 or a whole pie for $10. The proceeds from the pie sale will benefit Feed His Lambs, a nonprofit organization that feeds families in need in Bonner Springs and Edwardsville weekly. Proceeds from the sale of just one pie will feed five families. For more information, contact Polly Stock (913) 634-6473 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
