BLHS boys, girls lifters in good shape this season
The boys and girls powerlifting teams have logged three meets this season as March 3’s 4A state meet approaches.
Earlier this month, the boys team finished first at Wamego High School after taking 96 competitors to the event. The meet was the Bobcats’ first first-place finish of the year.
The girls won their 25th consecutive meet, adding to a five-year streak.
In the girls’ division, Dakota Edmonds, Danae Leppke, Alex Gorman and Courtney Leive each placed first in their individual divisions.
Eleven placed first in the men’s division: Hayden Morris, Russell Clark, Austin Sinclair, Bryan Crowe, Jacob Peterson, Janrae Bondoc, Zac Smith, Jacob Boyer, Trevor Hickman, Bret Fritz and Drew Potter.
On Feb. 25, the Bobcats will travel to Belton, Mo., to compete in a performance meet.
Annual strength program ahead
Basehor Linwood High School will be hosting its annual middle school
strength and conditioning camps for sixth- to-eighth graders.
Two sessions are available. Session one takes place from 5:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. on Feb. 27 and continues each Monday and Wednesday until March 28.
Session two takes place from 5:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. on April 2 and continues each Monday and Wednesday until April 25.
