Johnson leads BLHS girls past Sumner

January 5, 2012

Basehor-Linwood guard Jamie Johnson scored 14 points in Basehor-Linwood’s 35-25 victory over Sumner Academy on Wednesday.

The Bobcats made 20 of 35 free throws, but mustered just six field goals.

“We worked on shooting and fundamentals over break a lot and got the fundamentals down,” BLHS coach Noah Simpson said. “Now it is a mindset thing with our shooting. As much as anything, we just need to relax and run offense. Winning a game will help with that.”

In addition, Bailey Hooker scored nine points and Maggie Hattock scored three points. Cara McCarty scored two points.
