Four commit to football programs, one soccer at Bonner Springs on National Signing Day
National Signing Day at Bonner Springs
Four Bonner Springs football players and one soccer player signed letters of intent to continue their athletic careers after graduation. Spencer Bush signed to play soccer at William Jewell College in Liberty, Mo. Stevie Williams (Butler Community College), JaVante Young (Fort Scott Community College), Daemon Franklin (Highland Community College) and J.J. Jackson (Coffeyville Community College) will be back in the weight room one last time this summer to prepare for the start of their collegiate careers.
Five Bonner Springs student athletes will sign with colleges on Wednesday as part of National Signing Day.
Spencer Bush will sign to play soccer at William Jewell College, where he will compete in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics' Heart of America Conference.
Stevie Williams, a wide receiver for the Braves, will sign to play at Butler Community College.
Linebacker JaVante Young will sign with Fort Scott Community College.
Defensive back Daemon Franklin will sign with Highland Community College.
J.J. Jackson, a tailback for the Braves, will decide which college to sign with on Tuesday.
The football signing ceremony will take place at 8 a.m. Wednesday in the school's weight room. A time and place has not yet been determined for Bush's ceremony.
