Linwood Elementary School and Sarah’s Studio of Dance were the winners of the first Basehor-Linwood Education Foundation Cowtastic Roundup at the Basehor Dairy Days festival June 2.

Visitors voted for their favorites among the plywood cows decorated by Basehor-Linwood schools and Basehor businesses. The promotion was a fundraiser for the education foundation, which provides annual scholarships and grants for Basehor-Linwood teachers and students.

USD 458 communication coordinator Ashley Razak also provided an update on the four Dairy Days cows that went missing in the days before the festival. Two of the cows have been returned, but two — including the winning Sarah's Studio of Dance cow — remain missing. The school district will still accept the missing cows from anyone with no questions asked, Razak said.
