She stopped, but did not see the on coming car when she pulled across the intersection. The man that died was not wearing his seat belt according to the KC Star on line news.

It is not just to stop, you also MUST to look around you.

So, jgreen1515, since the man wasn't wearing a seat belt that makes it OK that he was killed due to her screw up?

I'm going to say prayers for all involved. If that had happened any later, there would have been school buses on that stretch and I'd hate to think what would have happened then.

KC Star online also reports she failed to stop as does other news channels reported as well. That info probably comes from the KHP just as the report of him not wearing a seat belt. So based on what has been reported an innocent life has been taken due to failure to comply with a stop sign!!!

Regardless, the tragedy with the loss of Ray puts a huge void in MANY lives!! We will all remember his huge smile & generous charisma!!! My heart goes out to his family & many friends!!

According to news reports, the girl's name was Jordan Marie Green. Is there an association with the first person posting here who was jgreen1515? jgreen1515, are you the one that caused the accident?

I loved Ray too. He was a lot of fun to work with - a great family man. I'll miss him a lot. Yes, I thought of the correlation with the name jgreen1515 as well. I know that she didn't intend for this to happen... and I am sure she has learned a great lesson. But what a tremendous cost.
