Basehor students among KU grads

Several Basehor-Linwood High School graduates and other students from Basehor were among the candidates for degrees this spring at Kansas University.
The university announced the names of more than 4,800 degree candidates last week.
BLHS graduates earning KU degrees were:
• Natalie Freeman, a 2008 graduate, who received a Bachelor of Science in mathematics with a dance minor;
• Whitney Kirkpatrick, a 2005 graduate, who received a Master of Social Work;
• David Kozar, a 2008 graduate, who received a Bachelor of Science in health information management;
• Scott Ogilvie, a 2008 graduate, who received a Bachelor of Arts in psychology;
• Bruce Tyner Jr., a 2008 graduate, who received a Bachelor of General Studies in psychology with a sociology minor;
• and Ronni Webster, a 2007 graduate, who received a Bachelor of Science in mathematics and a Bachelor of Science in economics.
Students from Basehor earning degrees were:
• Amelia Bartkoski, who received a Bachelor of Science in business in marketing and a Bachelor of Science in business in management and leadership;
• Shawn Lillig, who will receive a Doctor of Medicine;
• and Lon Strauss, who will receive a Doctor of Philosophy in history.
