Third arrest made in assault of Basehor man

Bonner Springs Police have arrested and charged a third individuals in the Nov. 2 robbery and assault of a 24-year-old Basehor man.

Lt. Rick Schubert said Shawna M. Rohn, 23, of Bonner Springs, was arrested Tuesday and charged Wednesday with robbery, and her bond was set at $100,000.

Juanita McAnally, 51, of Bonner was arrested and charged Nov. 15 with robbery, aggravated battery and aggravated kidnapping. Her bond was set at $100,000.

Both women remain in custody.

Johnnie Duncan, 52, of Kansas City, Kan., was charged Nov. 5 with robbery and battery. He posted a $50,000 bond.

The Basehor man told police he was robbed of his billfold, which only contained a few dollars, and assaulted about 10:30 a.m. Nov. 2 at 63 Lilac Lane in the Bonner Springs Estates mobile home development. Police served a warrant to search the property that afternoon.

The victim was an acquaintance of his attackers, Schubert said. The victim’s injuries were not life-threatening, but Schubert said he had never seen anyone beaten so badly. The man was taken to Providence Medical Center.
