Improvement the theme for BLHS girls golf
Sooner or later, Basehor-Linwood’s girls golf team will be able to play a tournament in temperatures more befitting of fall. Right?
For the second straight tournament — Tuesday’s Piper Invitational at Dub’s Dread in Kansas City, Kan. — the Bobcats competed in searing conditions, this time during the hottest time of the day.
“You could see that the girls got worn down toward the end of the round,” coach Bruce Courtney said of the noon start time.
Julie Lough led the team with a 109, followed by Candice Jennings (113) and Marriah Clayton (124).
“All the girls are getting better every time out, we now need to work on being consistent,” Courtney said.
The Bobcats return to competition at the Paola Country Club on Sept. 19.
