Basehor-Linwood will try to start 2-0 when it hosts league opponent Piper (0-1) at 7 p.m. on Friday. The Bobcats kicked off the season with a 56-0 victory against Bishop Ward last week.

Against Piper, Basehor-Linwood may find itself in a more competitive contest as the Pirates were picked by some as contenders in the Kaw Valley League. Piper began the season with a 25-7 defeat at Eudora, the team that ended Basehor-Linwood's postseason run in 2011.
