September 20, 2012
Dogs and their owners can enjoy a walk together Saturday at Go Dog Go to benefit the Leavenworth County Humane Society.
There are two routes for walkers to choose from, a one-mile or two-mile loop. Walkers can pre-register at the Basehor Community Library, 1400 158th St., for $20, or they can register the day of the event for $30. Registration starts at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, and the walk will begin at 8:30.
Dog owners also can enter their pets into optional contests, such as best canine costume, best trick, best tail wagger, dog and owner look-a-like and best canine kisser.
The walk starts at Basehor-Linwood High School, 2108 N 155th St., and will take place rain or shine. For more information or to register, call Laura Carroll at 913-724-2828 or stop by the Basehor Community Library.
