Briefly: BSHS, BLHS girls soccer teams each lose halftime leads

The Bonner Springs girls soccer team took a 2-1 halftime lead against Bishop Miege, scoring both goals in the first five minutes of play, but the Stags held on for a 6-2 victory on Friday.

Tuesday’s junior varsity and varsity games at Piper were postponed because of weather and will be played on Friday, May 10. The Braves (5-5) will play a pair of home games to close the week. On Thursday, BSHS hosts Bishop Ward at 6 p.m. and will play Schlagle at 5 p.m. Friday.

BLHS hosts Mill Valley Tuesday

Courtney Robinson and Samantha Rutherford each scored off a pair of assists from Kara Stephens, but the Basehor-Linwood girls soccer team fell, 3-2, against Kansas City Christian on Friday. The Bobcats (2-6) opened this week with a 10-0 loss to Lansing on Monday before Tuesday’s game at Sumner Academy was postponed because of inclement weather. BLHS is next scheduled to host Mill Valley on Tuesday.
