BSHS track and field tunes up at De Soto before Tuesday’s home invitational
Bonner Springs track and field placed fourth on the boys side and ninth on the girls side at Friday’s De Soto Invitational.
Austin Schuler placed third in the boys 800-meter run with a time of 2:08.26 and Travis Dooley finished runner-up to Tonganoxie’s Ben Johnson in the 110-meter hurdles, finishing with a time of 17.09 seconds.
Tre Scott finished third in the boys 300-meter hurdles with a time of 44.70 seconds.
The Braves’ boys 4-x-400-meter relay team of Jonah Freese, Schuler, Scott and Kalim Razakhan placed third with a time of 3:44.39. The Braves also placed third in the boys 4-x-800-meter relay when the team of Schuler, Brandon Moore, Riley Ballou-Lingstadt and T.J. Kimbrough-French finished with a time of 8:56.18.
Kyle Dumler finished second in the shot put with a throw of 46-05 feet and second in the discus throw with a throw of 134-11 feet.
Anthony Kubas placed third in the boys long jump with a jump of 19-02.50, followed by Jordan Jackson’s 18-11. The two swapped spots in the triple jump, with Jackson (41-07) finishing second and Kubas (40-01) third.
On the girls side, Kaliegh Taylor placed third in the girls long jump with jump of 14-01.50.
The Braves will host the Bonner Springs Invitational on Tuesday.
