Chiropractor opens first office in Basehor

January 2, 2013

After growing up in the area, Matthew Drake decided Basehor was the perfect spot to open his first chiropractic practice.

“I like the small town atmosphere,” he said.

Drake grew up in Tonganoxie and after completing his degree at Cleveland Chiropractic College in Overland Park, he has opened Drake Chiropractic and Rehab at 1106 N. 155th St., Suite C.

Drake’s practice is family-oriented, he said.

“My clinic focuses on spinal-related issues and overall health, but also has interest in treating other muscle and joint conditions,” he said.

Drake particularly likes treating sports injuries.

“I enjoy working with athletes, whether they’re the weekend warrior or recreational,” Drake said.

In addition to common chiropractic care, Drake is certified in active release technique, a massage-based treatment, and he offers kinesio taping, which is used on athletic injuries.

Drake will have an open house from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, with a chamber of commerce ribbon cutting at 11 a.m. The open house also will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
