In mid-December, Mystic Salon became the newest tenant to open up shop on Pinehurst Drive.

Owner Krista Lewandowski and her five hair stylists offer a full service salon, and within a month Lewandowski hopes to have a massage therapist and nail technician. Her goal is to bring big-city services to Basehor.

“This area is growing so fast,” she said. “We want to bring something different to the area.”

In addition to expanding her spa services, Lewandowski would eventually like to add laser hair removal to her list of services. Mystic Salon also offers special-occasion hair and makeup services for weddings and formal events, she said.

“We want to offer that spoiled feel,” she said of the salon’s atmosphere.

Lewandowski graduated from Basehor-Linwood High School and now lives in McLouth, where she used to own a small salon. She most recently worked at Classy Cuts Too in Basehor before she decided to venture out on her own last fall. Within a couple of months of hard work, Mystic Salon was up and running at 15630 Pinehurst Drive, Suite 6.
