Summer schedule heating up for Bonner Springs YMCA
Coinciding with summer heating up, the Bonner Springs Family YMCA’s schedule is likewise picking up steam.
At 6 p.m. Saturday, the Bonner Springs aquatic staff will take on the Bonner Springs YMCA aquatic staff in a friendly water polo benefit match that will also feature a halftime diving show. A DJ, concessions and silent auctions will also be featured.
The event’s $2 admission charge will benefit the YMCA Inspire Together Campaign and the Parks and Rec Youth Scholarship fun. Contact the Y for more information or to register for any of its programs at Bonner Springs Family YMCA, 2251 S. 138th Street, Bonner Springs, KS 66012, or at 913-422-9348 and kansascityymca.org.
Registration deadlines approach for several other sessions at the Y. Tennis lessons for ages 5 and up begin the week of July 22 and feature a choice between morning and/or evening lessons. The deadline to register is Friday. There are just two dates remaining for the Tuesday adult tennis drill and play sessions being offered at the Y. All levels of experience among those ages 18 and up are welcome to participate in a session that begins with 30 to 45 minutes of drills following singles and doubles match play. The two remaining sessions, which run from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., will take place July 23 and July 30.
The Y is also now taking registration for fall youth sports, which include youth soccer (K-5), youth flag football (K-5), Sporting Tykes Soccer (ages 3-5), bitty flag football (ages 3-5) and a new adult co-ed softball league. More information can be found online at kansascityymca.org/sports.
