Bobcat volleyball sweeps Turner in “Pink Out” game

Abbey Mellies had eight kills and four service aces in Basehor-Linwood's "Pink Out" game against Turner on Tuesday. The Bobcats defeated the Golden Bears in straight sets.

The Basehor-Linwood volleyball team continued its successful 2013 season Tuesday with Kaw Valley League matchup against Turner. The host Bobcats swept the Golden Bears in their annual "Pink Out" game, 25-12, 25-6, 25-10.

BLHS did plenty of damage in the serving game, combining for 20 aces. Abbey Mellies, Madi Osterhaus, Courtney Robinson and Hailey Robinson led the way with four aces each. Mellies led the team with eight kills and Maddy Langford added seven.

Coach Amy Irvin's squad will get another taste of tournament action Saturday when it competes in the De Soto Spikefest.
