Basehor city council tables GIS discussion
The Basehor city council has elected to table the discussion regarding the potential addition of a database format of the city’s internal sewer infrastructure. The decision was made at the council’s monthly work session Monday at City Hall.
Last month, the council heard a presentation by Erin Allen of Midland GIS Solutions, based in Maryville Mo. The company already has clients in Leavenworth County, including Lansing.
City superintendent Gene Myracle said the city currently doesn’t have the manpower to take on the responsibilities of the addition, but said there will be more personnel coming on at the first of the year.
In other business, the council discussed the city’s comprehensive plan, which has been recommended for approval. A public hearing took place last month, and city attorney Shannon Marcano has recommended the planning commission propose a resolution to approve an ordinance, which the council would then accept. The topic will be further discussed at the council’s meeting Monday.
Council members Travis Miles and Vernon Fields were absent from the work session.
