Basehor-Linwood High School students honored
A total of 108 seniors from high schools in Leavenworth County will be named Kansas Honor Scholars at 7 p.m., Sept. 25, for their academic achievements at reception at the Riverfront Community Center, 123 S. Esplanade St., Leavenworth.
Basehor-Linwood High School seniors receiving the honor are: Jessica Budy, Emily Dye, Kathleen Eberth, Avery Fliger, Amber Garver, Matthew Higgins, Rachel Kamm, Carter Kleoppel, Cory McCleary, Jack McCraney, Luke McGowan, Carissa Mikesic, Eric Purrington, Sara Rehm, Hailey Robinson, Abraham Ruffcorn, Rachel Savner, Kayleigh Schoenfelder, Katie Tindell and Richard Zamora.
During the ceremony, each student will receive a Webster’s New College Dictionary and a commemorative certificate. Dr. Karen Miller, Dean of Nursing & Health Professions at Kansas University, will also speak at the event.
Since 1971, the Kansas Honors Program has recognized more than 120,000 scholars, who rank in the top 10 percent of their high school senior classes and are selected regardless of occupational plans or higher-education goals.
