Two Basehor-Linwood High School students are being honored this year as Kansas Governor's Scholars.

The honor is given to seniors around the state in the top 1 percent of their class. Katie Eberth and Katie Tindell were honored Monday night at the Basehor-Linwood School Board meeting and will meet Gov. Sam Brownback at the official ceremony on May 4.

"The Katies," as they're known at BLHS, have known each other since the sixth grade. Eberth will attend Kansas State University next and will pursue a degree in architecture and a minor in music. Tindell will attend the University of Kansas and will pursue a degree in chemical engineering.
