Two goals by senior Jordan Nirschl powered the Basehor-Linwood girls soccer team to its second win of the season Tuesday in a 2-1 home victory against Sumner Academy.

With the win, the Bobcats (2-9) ended a three-game losing streak, including Monday’s 10-0, mercy-rule defeat at Kaw Valley League opponent Lansing. The Lions jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first half, then poured on six more goals in the second before the game was called with 9:25 remaining.

Coach Erik Jones’ squad will try to keep the momentum in its favor with a home match at 6 p.m., today against Ottawa.
