Basehor library program offers tips on butterfly, bird habitats

The Basehor Community Library will present “Living Landscape,” a program reviewing how to attract birds and butterflies to yards and gardens, Tuesday at the library, 1400 N. 158th St.

Preceeded by a dinner at 6:30 p.m., the program will start at 7 p.m. with a presentation by Wayne Rhodus, Basehor-area nature photographer. Rhodus will share his experiences creating an inviting bird and butterfly oasis; his property has been certified by the National Wildlife Foundations as a Backyard Wildlife Habitat and a Bird Friendly Habitat. His native plant garden is certified by monarch Watch as a Monarch Waystation, listed on the Monarch Joint Venture website.
