Bobcats’ bats come alive against Tonganoxie

The Basehor-Linwood baseball team defeated Kaw Valley League foe Tonganoxie on Wednesday, taking a 13-7 victory over the visiting Chieftains.
Ashton Findley led the charge for the Bobcats (2-3), finishing 2-for-4 with a double, a home run and three runs batted in. Brock Gilliam finished with four hits, including two doubles, and drove in a run. Casey Jones tallied three RBI, and Jacob Markovich, Easton Noe and Garrett Draper each had multi-hit games.
Jesse Smallwood worked a complete game on the mound for Basehor-Linwood, allowing 12 hits and seven runs, five earned. He struck out seven, hit two batters and walked one.
The Bobcats will be back in action at 4 p.m. on Monday as they travel to play St. Joseph-Benton. Their next home games will be a noon doubleheader on Saturday, April 11, against Shawnee Mission West.
