Basehor Community Library and Wagg’n Tails Day Spa are joining forces once again to host the 4th Annual Go Dog Go, a dog walk fundraiser for the Leavenworth County Humane Society, at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 12 at Basehor City Park.
Advance registration is $20, and gets humans an event T-shirt, a bandana for their dog, and a goody bag with items from sponsors and vendors. Registration forms are available at the Basehor Community Library website, in person at the library, or by emailing LvnCoHS@live.com.
In addition to the walk and vendors, the event includes many other activities, contests and prizes. Walkers who collect stamps, stickers or punches from every vendor will be entered into the grand prize drawing.
“We’ll have splashing pools, free nail trims (for participating dogs), agility equipment and the popular 'Pets Paint' booth where dogs can express their inner 'Pup-casso,'” said Crystal Swann Blackdeer, President of LCHS, Inc.
Participants may also register the day of the event beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the park.
Participating dogs must be at least 4 months of age, healthy, on-leash, wearing an ID tag, vaccinated against rabies, and walked by someone age 12 or older. Dogs in any stage of "heat" will not be allowed to participate.
Interested vendors (particularly of pet related items and services) should contact Laura Carrol at the Basehor Community Library, or email LvnCoHS@live.com. Vendor spaces are $30; not-for-profit organizations may have fees waived.
