The Basehor-Linwood High School wrestling team finished seventh out of 14 teams at the Emporia Winter Classic over the weekend, scoring a total of 103 points.
The Bobcats were led by tournament champions Corbin Nirschl and Jonny Trowbridge, who claimed individual titles at 132 and 145 pounds, respectively.
Nirschl (Sr., 14-1) took first place by defeating Wes Johnson of Pittsburg in a 7-4 decision. Trowbridge (So., 14-2) won his division with a 10-7 decision over Greg McClurg of Liberal.
Other notable performers included senior Rylan Hawthorne (fourth place, 138 pounds), sophomore T.J. Williams (fourth place, 160 pounds), junior Alex Bejarano (fourth place, 182 pounds) and Thomas Garcia (sixth place, 195 pounds).
