Brody Cook, a student at Glenwood Ridge Elementary School, has qualified for the AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship for the third year in a row.
Cook, who turns 8 this month, will participate at the championship Aug. 1-2 in Hurricane Mills, Tenn. Cook started riding at age 3 on a bike with training wheels. He now rides a 50 cc dirt bike and competed this year in Michigan, Ohio, Texas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Illinois, Missouri and Kansas before qualifying for the national championship in Prentiss, Miss.
The son of Josh and Mindy Cook, he has one brother, Jackson, who rides but not in national competition. More than 20,000 youngsters competed for one of 1,400 positions in this year’s qualifying.
