Local softball players named to all-state teams
Five local players were recently named to the Kansas Softball Coaches Association's all-state teams, earning recognition for their performances during the 2015 season.
Basehor-Linwood and De Soto led the way with two selections each. Lady Bobcats senior Madison McDowell was selected to the first team at the utility position, and sophomore pitcher Ashley Hoffman was a second-team pick.
De Soto, meanwhile, was led by first-team outfielder Sarah Salvini, a senior. Senior infielder Morgan Stonestreet was a second-team selection.
Mill Valley freshman Peyton Moeder was a first-team pick at outfielder in Class 5A.
