Free teen driving program offered this weekend at Bonner Springs amphiteater
The Bridgestone Teens Drive Smart Driving Experience is visiting the Cricket Wireless Amphitheater this weekend to help combat the ongoing problem of motor vehicle crashes among teens.
The free, half-day program will be offered Saturday and Sunday at the amphitheater's south parking lot at 633 N. 130th St., Bonner Springs. The program us designed to equip teens and young adults with the skills to handle the challenges associated with driving. Each session combines classroom instruction with hands-on driving exercises – including a skid pad – to teach defensive driving skills and reinforce smart decision-making behind the wheel.
A morning session from 8:30 a.m. to noon and an afternoon session from 1 to 3:30 p.m. will be offered each day. To attend, participants must be between the ages of 15-21 and have a valid driver's license or learner's permit. Advanced registration is required at teensdrivesmart.com/tour.
