Basehor council denies zoning change for large housing development

The City Council listened to about a dozen residents of Honey Creek Farms and was presented with a petition signed by 150 of the 152 residents of Honey Creek Farms against a proposed zoning change and housing development. After hearing the residents, as well presentations from the developers, the board voted 5-0 to deny the zoning change request from commercial to planned residential.

U.S. District Court dismisses wrongful termination case against city of Basehor

A lawsuit filed by former Basehor police officer Jason Cory against the City of Basehor two years ago has been dismissed by the U.S. District Court after a judge found no justification for claims of wrongful termination, breach of contract, and violations of his First Amendment and due process rights.
Basehor city outlines completed projects in 2014, projects still to be done

Red, white and blue snow cones held by kids with the stars and stripes painted on their faces gathered at the Basehor-Linwood High School football field anticipating the fireworks show. Families made their way to the field after watching the annual Basehor Fourth of July parade, organized by Basehor PRIDE and themed “Celebrating Leavenworth County’s Youth.”
