Fall sports make early autumn ‘perfect time of year’

This is the perfect time of year for me for many reasons, but the number one reason is I’m a sports fan, and we have both baseball and football to enjoy.
Baldwin holds off Basehor for 21-19 season-opening victory

Baldwin’s defense made a big fourth down stop at midfield with 42 seconds remaining, preserving a season-opening 21-19 victory against visiting Basehor-Linwood. The fourth down stop at Baldwin’s 41 yard line came after the Bobcats moved the ball from its own 13 yard line to the Baldwin 35 behind the passing of junior quarterback Justin Phillips. The drive lost momentum, however, when Basehor was flagged for holding on second-and-10 from the Baldwin 42 and then picked up an illegal procedure call on fourth-and-2 to set up the fourth-down play.
