Bobcat women defend home powerlifting title; men finish second

The Basehor-Linwood women’s powerlifting team rolled to another Bobcat Power Invitational title on Saturday, and the men’s team finished second. The women scored 142 points, 109 points more than second-place Belton and won the meet for the eighth time in eight years. Benton won the men’s title with 102 points, and Basehor-Linwood scored 72.

Just after winning its own tournament, the Basehor-Linwood boys basketball team moved up to No. 3 in the latest KBCA Class 4A-I rankings. The Bobcats (11-0) moved up because previous No. 1 Bishop Miege lost last week to Olathe East. McPherson moved up to No. 1, and Andale is No. 2.
